Em- I didnt see a blog to reply on so I am writing on here. Yoshi wont be doing USDAA because he is 17" tall which would require him to jump 22". I dont want to do the performance division because I feel like he has a lot of potential and want him to go as far as possible. He could not hold up to jumping 22" due to his straight shoulders and he physically can barely jump that high to begin with. There are a few USDAAs here, but so much more AKC and I really want to concentrate on AKC with him since he can go all the way in AKC. I will do USDAA probably with my next dog, but just not with Yoshi as it is not very fair for him.

I think you can just e-mail a reply to me or something? I don't know, sorry :)
The USDAA Performance division is every bit as competitive as the Championship division! Not to mention, if he was in 16" performance, that is where all the awesome 22" dogs go to 'retire', so you'd be up against past National Champions & such.
People thinking the performance program is 'second class' and 'not worth it', is the reason it's taken so long to 'kick off' and become popular but I have seen a GREAT increase in the level of competition just in the past couple of years! You're in the Houston area -- I travel TO Houston several times a year to do USDAA!! So I KNOW there are USDAA's in Houston!! Heck, I'll be at about 3 or 4 this spring!!
